Oakland Police Warn Public Following Attempted Sexual Assault

Police are warning the public to be on the lookout today following an attempted sexual assault on a woman as she walked along an Oakland street Wednesday afternoon. According to Oakland police Officer Frank Bonifacio, the assault occurred in the 1300 block of East 31st Street at about 12:25 p.m. Wednesday. Bonifacio said the victim was walking along East 31st Street when she was pulled into a secluded area.

The suspect groped and attempted to sexually assault the victim, who was able to get away and report the incident to police. The suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, black pants and black boots, according to police.
