San Francisco police have taken one person into custody this evening following a standoff with an armed suspect who barricaded himself into a Mission District home.

Police were called to Shotwell and 23rd streets around 4:40 p.m. on a report of a robbery suspect barricaded into a home, according to Officer Albie Esparza.

A victim had been robbed by the suspect at gunpoint, before the suspect ran into a home on Shotwell Street.

Police shut down streets in the area and SWAT teams and negotiators were called in to assist.

There were no hostages taken or any shots fired in the incident, Esparza said.
