Detectives have arrested four suspects believed to be involved in various recent burglaries in the Sunnyvale area, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public safety.

Detectives said Israel Esquival Aguilar, 19, of Redwood City, and Stanley Sherman Jr., 19, of Santa Clara, were involved in a May 12 burglary in the 900 block of East El Camino Real.

Detectives said a gun was fired during a struggle while this burglary was being committed.

Aguilar was taken into custody May 15 and Sherman Jr. was taken into custody on Monday.

Detectives said they also arrested two more suspects believed to be involved in area burglaries.

Shawn Oceala Thomas Jr., 18, was taken into custody Wednesday after detectives said he was involved in a Sunnyvale burglary.

Detectives said a fourth suspect has also been arrested for his connection to a previous burglary, but his identity has not been released.

Detectives said they are investigating whether the suspects are involved in other area burglaries.
