Oakland Investigators Treating Fatal Hit-and-run As Homicide

A fatal hit-and-run in Oakland Wednesday night is being treated as a homicide investigation, police said today.

A man was killed in the collision around 9:25 p.m. in the 2800 block of Webster Street, according to police.

Investigators believe the man was hit by a car and then the driver left the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and the Alameda County coroner’s bureau have not released the victim’s identity.

Police did not have any information about the driver who got away.
