Coffee Shop Owner Tells 911 Operator Do Not Send Police

Police report that John Langley, a co-owner of the Red and Black Cafe in Portland, Oregon called 911 about an emergency but he told the 911 dispatcher fire department and other emergency personnel were allowed to enter but no police.

  • I understand the guy’s point of view, but it is warped.
    Not all police are bad.
    Most cops, just like most people, are good & decent human beings.
    Another aspect is that he doesn’t want his clientele to feel harassed by cops.

  • Can we say victim! What’s he gonna do if there is a situation that requires law enforcement involvement? If he does allow LE and life or property is lost, is he prepared to deal with the aftermath?
