Young Girl Wounded in Shooting in Critical Condition in Oakland

A young girl is in critical condition and a man is in stable condition today after being wounded in a shooting in East Oakland on Friday night, according to police. Both victims were shot around 6:25 p.m. in the 1800 block of 66th Avenue, police said.

The girl and the man were found suffering from gunshot wounds and taken to hospitals for treatment. Oakland police Capt. Steven Tull said the man appears to have been the intended target in the shooting. Suspect information was not available and an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
