A 25-year-old man remains in critical condition today after being wounded in a shooting in Richmond on Monday evening, a police spokeswoman said.

Police said the shooting happened around 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Bissell Avenue.

Officers arrived on the scene to find a large crowd of people and the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including one in the chest, according to Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov.

The man was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition.

Abetkov said police have not identified a suspect in the shooting, which is believed to have been a drive-by.

Bystanders at the scene were uncooperative with investigators, who are continuing to question possible witnesses, she said.
