Sunnyvale police are investigating a Saturday home invasion robbery in which a suspect robbed an elderly couple in their home at gunpoint.

Police said a suspect entered a home on the 1000 block of Syracuse Drive around 3:10 p.m. and robbed an elderly couple at gunpoint. He then fled the area.

The victims told investigators the suspect previously went to their house on Friday, walked up to the door and crouched down, according to police.

Believing he was delivering a package, one of the victims opened the front door and heard the suspect say something about a job before the victim closed the door, according to investigators.

The suspect is described as a male about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with an average build and in his late 20s to early 30s. He spoke with a Spanish accent and had a closely-trimmed full beard.
