Reports of shots fired have prompted a lockdown at San Francisco General Hospital this afternoon, according to University of California at San Francisco officials.

The possible shooting was in Building 1 of the hospital on the third or fourth floor, UCSF officials posted on Twitter at about 1:30 p.m.

People at the hospital have been instructed to lock all doors and stay out of sight as a room-to-room search is conducted, according to UCSF officials.

Building 1 was reported cleared at about 1:45 p.m. and a suspect was seen running across 22nd Street, UCSF officials said.
