A man and a woman were arrested in Monterey County on Saturday evening for alleged sexual molestation of a child and for possession of narcotics, a sheriff’s sergeant said. Ruben Ruiz Maciel, 41, and Claudia Ochoa, 31, were arrested around 7 p.m. on Saturday for alleged sexual molestation of a child and for possession of narcotics, Monterey County sheriff’s Sgt. D Karamitis said.
Deputies have not released details about the alleged sexual abuse, such as when and where it occurred, or if the victim knew the suspects. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Maciel operates Ruiz Trucking, an authorized-for-hire company based in Salinas. Both suspects were booked into the Monterey County Jail. Maciel’s bail was set at $5 million while Ochoa’s bail was set at $2 million. The sexual abuse allegations remain under investigation.
