A 32-year-old man was shot and killed in the driveway of an El Sobrante home Sunday night, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Around 9:40 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a report that someone had been shot in the 4200 block of Santa Rita Road, according to sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee. Deputies found the victim in the driveway suffering from gunshot wounds, Lee said.
A helicopter took the victim to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was later pronounced dead, Lee said. His identity is not yet being released. Detectives are investigating the case and trying to identify a suspect, Lee said.
