Two suspects have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting at a Milpitas hotel in January, police said Thursday. San Jose resident Jesus Ulises Granados, 19, was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Executive Inn on Jan. 14 at 10:33 p.m. after reports of a possible shooting, according to police. He died at the scene.

After an investigation, detectives identified two suspects in the shooting as Loyce Edward Weaver, 26, and Robert Edward Ebertowski, 24, both San Jose residents, Sgt. Gene Smith said Thursday. Weaver has been charged with murder and assault by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, and Ebertowski, who was found to be in custody in Merced County Jail on unrelated charges, has been charged as an accessory, Smith said. Granados’ death was the first homicide in Milpitas this year. The city had only one homicide in 2013.
