Two Vallejo police officers suffered minor injuries Thursday during a high-speed pursuit of two suspects that included a man wanted for murder. The uniformed officers attempted to stop a vehicle occupied by two male suspects for a traffic violation around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Springs Road and Lassen Street, according to Lt. Sid DeJesus.

The suspects sped away and the officers initiated a pursuit on city streets that ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into a curb near Tennessee and Avian streets. Shortly before the suspects crashed, the pursuing officers lost control on a turn and went off the road on the 3000 block of Tennessee. Both were wearing their seatbelts, but suffered minor injuries for which they were transported to a hospital and then released, DeJesus said.

The suspects fled on foot but were caught on the 200 block of Avian by other officers. Police arrested Cole Millington, 23, of Turlock, Calif., who was wanted on a no-bail felony warrant for murder in Stanislaus County. The vehicle’s driver, Luis Avena, a 23-year-old Vallejo resident, was arrested on suspicion of felony evading police and hit-and-run.
