Man Shot Dead Near Liquor Store In Antioch Identified As Rushawn Thomas

A 36-year-old man who was shot and killed near a liquor store in Antioch on Tuesday afternoon has been identified.

Rushawn Thomas of Antioch was gunned down near Joe’s Liquor & Foods store at 1911 D St. on Tuesday, according to a Contra Costa County coroner’s deputy.

Officers responding to a report of shots fired in the area found Thomas suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police have not released any suspect information in connection with the killing and no arrests have been made.
