A man was attacked with a hammer in San Francisco’s Inner Richmond neighborhood on Friday night, police said today. The 32-year-old man was with his friends around 8:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of California Street when they were confronted by a group of people, police said. The victims ran into a nearby building to get away from the group, but the man found himself with two of the suspects — a man and a woman in their 20s, according to police.
One of the suspects pulled out a hammer and struck the man several times. The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with bruises and cuts, according to police. He is expected to survive his injuries. The pair fled on foot and has not been found as of this morning.
