A man who allegedly robbed beer from a gas station early Thursday morning in Scotts Valley was injured in a solo car crash shortly after, police said. Police learned that a man entered the store at the 76 gas station located at 99 Hermon Road at about 12:05 a.m. Thursday. The man exited his blue Honda Accord and went into the market to buy beer.
The clerk noticed the man was under the influence of alcohol and refused to sell beer to him, according to police. Police said the two got into an argument and the man threatened to get a gun from his car. The clerk stepped aside and the man grabbed beer and fled. About 15 minutes after the alleged robbery, the man was in a solo car crash. He was airlifted to a San Jose hospital to be treated for his injuries, police said. The man’s condition was not immediately available.
