Police are attempting to locate a man who robbed a Salinas liquor store at gunpoint on Friday, a police commander said.

The robbery happened around 12:20 p.m. when an armed man entered the Cork N’ Bottle liquor store at 606 E. Alisal St., according to Salinas police Cmdr. Henry Gomez.

The man pointed a handgun at a store employee and demanded money, according to Gomez.

He then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, running south on South Wood Street, Gomez said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s with a thin mustache and goatee. He was wearing a black hoodie, black cap and sunglasses at the time of the robbery, Gomez said.
