Police in Santa Rosa arrested a fugitive Friday night after executing a warrant.

Officers assisting the gang crimes team went to execute the felony arrest warrant of 22-year-old Isiah Simmons in the 800 block of Aston Avenue, police said.

Simmons attempted to run out the back door when police arrived, but an officer with a police dog was waiting for Simmons as he fled, according to police.

Police said Simmons surrendered when he saw the police dog.

Two pit bulls ran out of the house and charged at the officers. The officer deployed a Taser on one of the dogs, and both dogs ran back inside, police said.

Police said no dogs or people were injured during the arrest.

Simmons was booked into the Sonoma County jail on the warrant.
