Novato police arrested two more suspects in an alleged gang-related assault on a Novato man last week. The victim was assaulted by a group at 1565 S. Novato Blvd. around 7 p.m. on March 16, Sgt. Michael Howard said. The victim was able to flee, but one suspect tried to hit him with a vehicle as he fled, Howard said. After the victim contacted Novato police, several suspects again assaulted him, causing injuries that required medical care, Howard said.
Police determined the assaults were potentially gang-motivated, and arrested Tatiana Jenkins, 24 of Antioch, Christopher Cooke, 19, of Novato and a 16-year-old Novato male, Howard said. Police arrested two more suspects, Oscar Benitez, 20, of San Rafael, and Jackson Calderon-Oscobar, 19, of Petaluma on Tuesday and Wednesday, Howard said.
The five suspects face conspiracy and participating in a street gang charges. Jenkins also faces a battery charge and the juvenile male faces an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
