Santa Rosa police arrested a man Tuesday in connection with an alleged gang-related, drive-by shooting. Leonard James Roubidoux, 20, of Santa Rosa, is suspected of shooting a 21-year-old man in the area of Fresno Avenue and Northpoint Parkway around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sgt. David Linscomb said. Police found the shooting victim in a vehicle in front of the fire station on Corporate Center Parkway in west Santa Rosa. The victim was struck in the leg when a passing vehicle with two occupants shot at his vehicle, Linscomb said. Officers impounded the suspect’s vehicle when they found it a few blocks away, and the shooting victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries, Linscomb said.
Detectives identified Roubidoux as a suspect in the shooting, which is thought to be related to a long-standing grudge he had against the victim, Linscomb said. Roubidoux was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and gang enhancements Tuesday as he was walking on W. Third Street near Harvest Lane in Santa Rosa, Linscomb said. A 17-year-old girl, believed to be Roubidoux’s girlfriend, also was stopped and she was arrested for being an accessory and for gang enhancements, Linscomb said. Police believe she was present at the time of the shooting, Linscomb said. Roubidoux was booked into the Sonoma County jail and the girl was booked into juvenile hall, Linscomb said.
