Oakland police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in two armed robberies that took place on Monday.

The first robbery occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the Montclair neighborhood near the Montclair Parking garage, according to police Captain Anthony Toribio.

Two female victims were walking toward the garage when they were approached by two suspects, at least one of whom was armed, and robbed, Toribio said.

The suspects were described as black males around 18 to 20 years old and 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with medium builds and dark complexions. One was wearing a black t-shirt and dark blue jeans, while the other was wearing a light brown jacket and dark blue jeans, Toribio said.

The suspects were last seen driving on Lucas Avenue away from La Salle Avenue in a baby blue or pearl Audi sedan or similar vehicle, Toribio said.

The second robbery occurred on Ransom Street around 10:15 p.m., according to Capt. Steven Tull.

A delivery driver was making a food delivery on the 2200 block of Ransom Street. When he called to verify the address, he saw two people get out of a car around half a block away, Tull said.

The suspects approached and one pointed a gun at the delivery driver, pulling him from his vehicle.

The suspects robbed the victim and took his car, and were last seen driving west on Santa Rita Avenue, Tull said.

The first suspect was described as a black male 20 to 24 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 165 pounds, with a light complexion and wearing a light-colored jacket and blue jeans, Tull said.

The second suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds with a dark complexion and short hair, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, Tull said.

The victim’s vehicle was described as a 1997 Toyota Corolla four-door, California license plate 6YVL027.
