Five people were injured in a two-car, hit-and-run rollover accident last Friday south of downtown San Jose and citizens in the area helped nab the driver who tried to flee the scene, police said.
At about 7 p.m. Friday, the San Jose police and fire departments were dispatched to the intersection of Almaden Avenue and West Humboldt Street on a report of a two-car rollover accident, police said.
The male driver of one of the two vehicles in the collision at the intersection had fled the scene on foot and ran through nearby residential yards before some citizens assisted in capturing him for police, according to officers.
Two passengers in his car and three occupants of the second car were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries, police said.
The driver, who was not being identified, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license and other warrants and was placed on a parole hold, according to police.
