Police are looking for the suspects who shot a man sitting in his car outside a Santa Rosa fire station on Saturday night, a police sergeant said. Officers responded to reports of shots fired and speeding vehicles in the area of Fresno Avenue and Northpoint Parkway shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said. A 21-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound in the leg, Banayat said.
He was by himself inside a car parked in front of Santa Rosa Fire Station No. 10 at 1345 Corporate Center Parkway, she said. Multiple bullet holes were found on the car, Banayat said. The man told officers that two people in another car fired gunshots at him and fled, she said. He was transported for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, she said.
Officers searched the area and found the suspect vehicle unoccupied a few blocks away, Banayat said. The suspect vehicle was impounded, she said. The suspects are at large and no weapons have been recovered, according to Banayat. Police are investigating whether the shooting is gang related, she said.
