Man Shot Minutes After Allegedly Stabbing Victim In Oakland

Oakland police are investigating a stabbing and shooting in the city on Saturday that are believed to be related, police said today.

Officers responded at 10:03 a.m. to reports of a stabbing at in the 700 block of 19th Street and found one victim suffering from a stab wound, according to police.

That victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

A few minutes later, at 10:10 a.m., officers were called to reports of a shooting at 23rd Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way, police said.

There, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. That man was taken to a local hospital, also in stable condition, and is believed to be responsible for the stabbing that occurred minutes earlier, according to police.

The incidents remain under investigation.
