Police in Novato have made three additional arrests in connection with a Sunday evening assault in which a man was attacked multiple times by assailants who at one point tried to run him down with a car. The assault occurred at about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard when a group of people assaulted a man, according to police.
After the victim escaped, a suspect tried to run him down with a car but the victim managed to get away unscathed, police said. Later that night, several people assaulted the man again, according to police. Police made three arrests Sunday night — 24-year-old Tatiana Jenkins, of Antioch, 19-year-old Christopher Cooke, of Novato, and a 16-year-old boy.
Between Tuesday and Thursday, police arrested three additional suspects in connection with the incident. Christian Velasquez, 21, of Novato, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and probation violation. Carlos Rodas, 20, of Novato, was arrested on suspicion of participating in a criminal street gang, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and dissuading a witness. And Diego DelaCerda-Guerrero, 21, of Larkspur, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and dissuading a witness.
All three men were booked into Marin County Jail. The incident remains under investigation.
