Police in Fremont are investigating a residential burglary that occurred Wednesday night.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary at a home in the 4300 block of Gibralter Drive at about 8:30 p.m., police said.

The burglary had occurred at some point during the day when the residents were not home, according to police.

Police said the burglars got into the home by removing a window screen and breaking the sliding glass window in the kitchen. The house was then ransacked.

The resident was not able to provide police with the amount of stolen property because clothes and property were scattered about the house.

Police said a neighbor noticed a suspicious car with a male driver parked on nearby Gibralter Court at about 7 a.m., who left about 15 minutes later.
