Two Corpus Christi police officers and a suspect are now at Spohn Memorial Hospital being treated for gunshot wounds.

Chief Floyd Simpson says the officers were called out to Congressional Drive for a man who seen behaving erratically in the area. One officer was already talking to the man. Chief Simpson says the suspect opened fire as a second officer arrived for backup.

The officers were able to fire back, but the suspect got into a police Tahoe and took off. He then crashed into a utility pole in front of the Corpus Christi Country Club. Other officers pulled him from the police unit.
