A man, woman and teenager were arrested in Novato Sunday night for their alleged involvement in a gang-related assault, according to Novato police. At about 7 p.m., a group of people assaulted a man in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard, according to police. The victim was able to escape and flee the scene. A suspect had tried to hit the victim with a car but did not succeed, police said.
Police said that several people assaulted the victim again after the initial incident. Three suspects were later contacted and arrested in connection with the first assault, which police are considering gang-related. Tatiana Jenkins, 24, of Antioch, was arrested and booked on suspicion of battery, conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang, criminal street gang enhancement and probation violation, police reported.
Christopher Cooke, 19, of Novato, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and criminal street gang enhancement, according to police. A 16-year-old boy was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, participating in a criminal street gang and criminal street gang enhancement. Police continue to investigate the incident.
