Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in San Jose on Monday night, a police sergeant said. Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive person at a home in the 5100 block of Eppling Lane around 9:40 p.m., Sgt. Heather Randol said. A man was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene, Randol said.
Police are looking into the motive and circumstances of the murder, she said. No suspects are in custody and no further details were immediately available, Randol said. The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin, she said. The death marks the city’s ninth homicide of the year.
