Napa police arrested an 18-year-old New Technology High School student on suspicion of making a bomb threat Tuesday morning.

School staff notified police at noon Tuesday that student Laura C. Peralta turned in a note stating a bombing was going to take place Wednesday on the campus, police said.

Peralta said she found the note in the girl’s bathroom, police said.

Officers and school staff checked the school for safety Tuesday. During the investigation evidence was obtained that led officers back to Peralta as the suspected author of the note, police said.

As a precaution, at the start of school this morning, explosives detection dogs and handlers from Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield and school resource officers cleared the campus at 920 Yount St. No explosive materials were found, police said.

Peralta was arrested at home without incident at 9:15 a.m. today for making criminal threats and false report of a bomb, police said.
