Fairfield police have arrested a juvenile who is suspected of firing shots on E. Alaska Avenue and Santa Rosa Street last month.
When police responded around 3 p.m. on Feb. 20 to the shooting, witnesses said someone from a black 4-door Lexus fired at least seven shots in the air and drove away, Sgt. Franco Cesar said. No one was injured.
Police tried to stop a 17-year-old male juvenile around 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 25 on E. Alaska Avenue and Santa Rosa Street, Cesar said. The teen resisted arrest and was taken into custody after a brief struggle, Cesar said.
Police found a loaded handgun similar to the one used in the shooting, marijuana and cocaine on the boy after his arrest, Cesar said. Police also found the black 4-door Lexus, Cesar said.
The teen was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm, resisting arrest and on narcotics and weapons charges.
