A 31-year-old man suspected of intending to rob a San Carlos gas station last week turned himself in to authorities on Monday morning, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Shane Connolly, a Redwood City resident, is believed to have entered a Shell Gas Station at 1098 El Camino Real around 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 26 and attempted to rob the business, police said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded and learned that the suspect, later identified as Connolly, had fled in a pickup truck before they arrived. At about 11:20 a.m. Monday, Connolly turned himself in to the San Carlos bureau of the sheriff’s office and was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, and booked into San Mateo County Jail. L
