An Oakland man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of burglarizing a San Leandro home on Thursday afternoon, San Leandro police said. Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 100 block of Camellia Court around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police. Police determined that the suspects had forced their way into the home through the front door and stolen multiple items.
Officers spoke to a neighbor, who gave them a description of the suspects. Investigators also located a residential surveillance camera in the neighborhood and reviewed the footage, according to police. The video showed the suspects fleeing in a car, and investigators researched the license plate number and learned that the car was likely being driven by 31-year-old Duc Phan, police said. When investigators went to his home on Saturday, some of the stolen property was recovered and Phan was arrested in connection with the burglary, according to police.
