Authorities conducting probation and parole compliance checks in Oakland on Wednesday seized four guns and arrested eight people, Oakland police said today. Law enforcement agencies conducted compliance checks on more than 70 people on probation or parole, police said.
They uncovered a total of four firearms in the checks and arrested seven men and one woman for failing to comply with the conditions of their probation or parole, police said. The participating agencies included Oakland police, the Alameda County Probation Department, the Alameda County Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Task Force, the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the U.S. Marshals Service.
