A parolee at large was arrested on drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop in Santa Rosa Thursday night.
Dante Keith Salvadori, 20, was in a vehicle that was stopped in the area of Coffey Lane and Sansone Drive in Santa Rosa around 8:30 p.m., Sonoma County sheriff’s Lt. Tim Duke said.
A deputy with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Team that stopped the vehicle smelled marijuana inside, Duke said. The driver and a juvenile got out of the vehicle and were released at the scene.
Salvadori initially refused to exit the vehicle and he was handcuffed while sitting in the front passenger seat, Duke said.
As Salvadori was escorted to a patrol vehicle, a deputy removed a gun in Salvadori’s waistband, Duke said.
The gang enforcement team members found marijuana and 36 oxycontin pills in addition to the semi-automatic handgun taken from Salvadori, Duke said.
Salvadori revealed he was a wanted parolee at large, Duke said. He was booked on drug and weapon possession charges and resisting and obstructing police and booked in the Sonoma County jail under no bail.
