Two vehicle were involved in the confrontation on westbound Highway near Willow Pass Road, which occurred around 2:45 p.m., according to CHP Officer Daniel Hill.

A caller reported at 2:51 p.m. that the two vehicles had been involved in a confrontation in which shots were fired, and that one of the vehicles had swerved and struck the caller’s vehicle, Hill said. The caller got off the freeway and called the CHP, but the vehicles involved in the shooting did not stop and left the area. The vehicle that dropped them at the hospital left without providing identification, Hill said.
