Police in Sunnyvale ended a lockdown Thursday afternoon at Fremont High School after detaining a man holding a BB gun near the school, a police captain said. Shortly after noon Thursday, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety received a report of a man with a gun across from the high school at 1279 Sunnyvale Saratoga Road, police Capt. David Pitts said.
Police ordered the school be locked down, with students made to stay inside classrooms, but lifted it after about 15 to 20 minutes, Pitts said. Officers located and held a man with a BB gun and also detained others for questioning, Pitts said. Police remained at the scene but no one had been arrested as of about 1 p.m., the captain said.
