A man was arrested in Antioch on Wednesday evening after he allegedly cut a woman with a knife and threatened to cut himself after being confronted by officers, according to police. Police said officers responded around 5 p.m. to a report of a drunk man fighting with a woman and her elderly father at the Lakeshore Apartments at 600 Wilbur Ave. The caller told police that the man had cut the woman with a knife during the altercation.
Officers arrived to find a man, identified as 32-year-old David Thomason, banging on the front door of a second-story apartment, police said. When they confronted him, Thomason held a knife to his neck. Officers subdued him with a Taser after a brief standoff, according to police.
He was taken to a hospital before being arrested on suspicion of felony assault and booked into county jail in Martinez. Emergency responders at the scene treated the woman Thomason allegedly assaulted and also treated her father.
