Police today released the name of a suspect in a shooting that left one injured in Oakland’s Santa Fe neighborhood Saturday evening. The shooting was reported around 5:50 p.m. in the 900 block of 57th Street, according to police. One victim was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening and is recovering, police said.
The suspect ran away from the scene with a handgun. The suspected shooter was identified today as 38-year-old Dwight Carroll, according to police. Police said he is a black man who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous. Police said the shooting was not gang-related but a domestic violence case.
