Chadwick Brice Identified as Murder Victim in Rodeo

A man who was shot and killed in Rodeo early Sunday morning has been identified as 28-year-old Chadwick Brice, of Richmond, a sheriff’s spokesman said today. Brice succumbed to his injuries at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek hours after being shot multiple times, Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee.

Another 28-year-old man, Benicia resident Beal Hickman, was arrested on suspicion of murdering Brice. He was taken to county jail in Martinez where he is being held on $1.3 million bail. Deputies learned of the shooting at about 3 a.m. Sunday, when a wounded Brice arrived at Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo, Lee said. He was later transferred to John Muir, where he died around 9:20 a.m. Lee said this morning that the investigation into the murder is ongoing.
