San Leandro police are warning city residents of two people posing as city utility workers who burglarized a home while pretending to check for water problems. Officers were notified of the incident that happened on Feb. 8 around 12:25 p.m., police said.

The suspects, described as a man and woman in their 20s, told the resident they were at the home on behalf of the city to investigate flooding, according to police. The resident allowed them to enter her home and the suspects stole numerous items while they were pretending to look for water issues, police said. The suspects were seen departing in a small dark colored pickup truck, police said.
