Officers arrested 11 suspects and seized numerous firearms in Oakland earlier this month, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force executed a search warrant at about 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 5 at a building on 36th Avenue with additional law enforcement agencies as part of an ongoing investigation that was launched in late 2013, the CHP said.

Officers from various agencies including the Oakland Police Department, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, the CHP and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security entered the property and detained 23 people, the CHP said. Seven of those detained were arrested for outstanding felony warrants and four more people were arrested for possession of weapons and stolen property, according to the CHP.

Officers seized seven firearms and located stolen property during the search of the property. Among the property seized were two trailers, two vehicle engines, pieces of construction equipment, and a large generator. The recovered items had all been previously reported stolen from around the Bay Ara, the CHP said.
