An Oakland man was arrested for three separate robberies that occurred in about a month’s span in San Leandro, according to police. Michael Patillo, 27, was arrested for robbing a U.S. Bank at 1585 E. 14th St. around 11:55 a.m. on Feb. 6., police said. He was also connected to robbing the same U.S. Bank at East 14th Street on Jan. 3 and a Bank of America at 1925 Marina Boulevard on Jan. 14, according to police.

“This year we have experienced an unprecedented amount of bank robberies. Our staff has successfully closed five out of the six bank robberies that have been committed this year,” Lt. Randall Brandt said in a statement. “This would not have been possible without the assistance of our community and surrounding agencies,” he said.
