Police in Chula Vista, California say Adam Howe took a “selfie” photo of himself on a cell phone that was later found at the scene of a burglary at the Hilltop Tabernacle Church.

A laptop, cash and watches were reportedly stolen in the break-in. Neighbors apparently recognized him and police arrested him on Tuesday.

A search of his belongings uncovered property believed to be stolen from the Hilltop Tabernacle Church. Further investigation led to the arrest of two other people.

Police say they’ve now linked Howe to thefts at a nearby mobile home park after residents recognized his picture in media reports.
