An alert officer led to the arrest of a Santa Clara man in Sausalito on Friday, police said. The officer noticed 46-year-old George Lee while driving in the 400 block of Caledonia Street at about 4:20 p.m., police said. Police said the officer remembered he had arrested Lee in September 2012 for possession of a stolen vehicle and bicycle.

A records check on Lee learned he had three warrants issued for his arrest. About 45 minutes later, just after 5 p.m., Lee was found hiding in the bushes in the 1700 block of Bridgeway, according to police. He was taken into custody without incident. Police said Lee was in possession of a pair of cable cutters commonly used to cut bicycle locks and believed he was intending on stealing bicycles. Lee was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail.
