An alleged pimp was arrested following a shooting at a hotel in Rohnert Park on Saturday night, police said. At about 8:15 p.m. on Saturday police officers responded to numerous 911 calls reporting shots fired at the Rodeway Inn at 6288 Redwood Drive, police said. The suspect, Christopher Jerome Roberson, 34, of North Highlands, fled in a vehicle onto southbound U.S. Highway 101 from the hotel prior to the arrival of police.

Rohnert Park police arrived at the Rodeway Inn and found evidence of a shooting, including a vehicle window that had been shattered and spent shell casings, according to police. Officers were given a description Roberson and his vehicle. Officers headed southbound on Highway 101 in an attempt to locate Roberson. Officers soon spotted the suspect vehicle and stopped Roberson near Lakeville Highway in Petaluma, police said.

Both Roberson and a female occupant of the vehicle were taken into custody and transported to the Rohnert Park Police Department for further questioning, police said. According to police, the shooting was over a dispute regarding a prostitution deal. Roberson, identified by police as a pimp, allegedly shot at another male in the Rodeway Inn parking lot, shattering a vehicle window and missing the victim.

The victim then fled the scene on foot, police said. The female occupant of the vehicle, identified as a prostitute, was questioned by officers and released, according to police. Roberson was arrested for burglary, pimping, brandishing a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm and for possession of cocaine, officers said.
