Oakland police have identified a woman who died today in an apparent home invasion robbery in the Fruitvale District as 77-year-old Susan Fong. Fong was found in a home on the 1800 block of 34th Avenue around 2:15 p.m. after officers responded to a well-being check, Oakland police Officer Johnna Watson said. Officers found signs of forced entry at the home and went inside, where they found a woman who was unresponsive.

Paramedics were called in, but the woman was declared dead at the scene, Watson said. There were no visible signs of injury on the woman’s body, according to Watson. A man believed to be in his 40s or 50s was also found at the home and did not have any visible signs of injury. Investigators believe the incident might be the result of a home invasion robbery, Watson said. Oakland police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information leading to an arrest in the case.
