Investigators are seeking information on the whereabouts of a suspect who fled from police in a stolen vehicle and then ran from officers in Suisun City this morning, police said. At about 9:20 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a verbal dispute in the area of Montebello and Capistrano drives. The officer arrived at the scene and witnessed a hand-to-hand transaction consistent with illegal drug sales, police said. A male suspect fled the scene in a vehicle with two other occupants, according to police.
The officer followed the vehicle and attempted to stop the driver. Ignoring the police vehicle’s lights and siren, the driver attempted to evade police. A vehicle pursuit ensued and the driver fled north on Walters Road, police said. As the vehicle approached McClellan Drive, the driver lost control of the vehicle and spun out. The driver then headed southbound in the northbound lane and struck the police vehicle in pursuit.
The driver then fled from the vehicle on foot into a nearby residential neighborhood while officers detained the two other occupants of the vehicle, police said. Officers pursued the suspect and established a perimeter to search for him with K-9 units, but were unable to locate him, police said. The two other occupants of the vehicle were arrested for narcotics and firearm possession, police said. The owner of the suspect vehicle subsequently reported their vehicle stolen. Police described the outstanding suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20s. He was wearing a black beanie and a gray sweatshirt at the time of the pursuit.
