A suspect was arrested within minutes of a bank robbery at a San Leandro US Bank branch Thursday, according to police. The robbery occurred shortly before noon at the bank located at 1585 E. 14th St., according to Lt. Randall Brandt. Bank employees reported being robbed at gunpoint and provided police with a description of the suspect.
Within minutes, police located a suspect vehicle driving on East 14th Street near Farrelly Drive. After officers stopped the car, the driver was positively identified as the suspect and arrested, Brandt said. Police are withholding the suspect’s identity until the initial investigation is completed.
