Two women were arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle in Antioch on Tuesday, according to police. The owner of the car left it running in the driveway of a home on Bonita Avenue when, at about 6:05 a.m., the vehicle was stolen, police said. Shortly after the car was reported stolen, an Antioch police officer spotted the vehicle being driven on A Street in Antioch.
The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the driver in the stolen vehicle didn’t yield and officers began to pursue the vehicle onto westbound state Highway 4 from A Street. The driver of the stolen vehicle began driving in the middle of the two traffic lanes and collided with three other vehicles while fleeing the officer, according to police.
The stolen vehicle was disabled during one of the traffic collisions and the driver fled from the car on foot. Two female passengers in the car were arrested, but police were unable to locate the driver. No one was injured. The incident remains under investigation.
